Wonderful addition to the corpus — seeing this pigpen used by Wilkes while he was watching the Earl of Leicester from the Dutch Republic makes it feel like a working spy's tool rather than a curiosity. I also appreciated the 1577 Spanish example alongside it; the cipher family clearly goes back further than most people assume. As a puzzle fan I love decoding things like this, and lately I've been enjoying the ciphers woven through the indie mystery ARG at https://www.the7sd.com as well. Thank you for documenting these historical examples so carefully!
